The following list was peddled around these and xangian parts last year…pulled it out, dusted it off, mended a little where needed…good as new…
What did you do in 2005 that you've never done before? Joined an exercise club. I also organized an entire extracurricular activity for a homeschool group…and it took off in popularity!
Did you keep you New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year? I didn’t make true resolutions last year. My goal was to fine tune my schedule, which oddly included letting go of a lot. I recreated my schedules, even shared with a few ladies my plan-in-practice and I’m doing very well. Always room for improvement, but I’m proud of what I’ve done. I do plan on making resolutions for this year, but at the moment I’m still mulling the items over.
Did anyone close to you give birth? There were tons of ladies on lines that gave birth this year…but as far as personally knowing anyone in real life, I didn’t see any new babes.
Did anyone close to you die? There were those that died who were close to people I love, and I mourned in that manner. In particular this year was a dear woman from WAH, Jodie.
What countries did you visit? Not a single one…not even a single out of state trip.
What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? I didn’t achieve anything on this section last year… so it would remain the same…the ability to plan and spend better for our financial needs. A solid church home. Peace of mind.
What date from 2005 will remained etched in your memory and why? July 4th…the day will now forever be remembered as the day my son nearly lost his eye.
What was your biggest achievement of the year? Honestly…I was very lazy in this area the entire year, so I’m struggling to come up with something that had follow through attached to it. I think a big step (not achievement) was pushing out into so many social things (I have extreme social anxiety).
What was your biggest failure? Same as last year - definitely my temper and anger control.
Did you suffer illness or injury? No. This was the first time in years I can say that! LOL
What was the best thing you bought? Cereal bowls…real small cereal bowls…it keeps my serving size to a modest portion. We’ve been eating cereal and soup out of shallow salad bowls for years…now I have deep but small bowls…I love them!
Where did most of your money go? Maxwell’s medical expenses and groceries.
What did you get really, really, really excited about? Franklin’s graduation back in January; and, consequently, his first day of work this past summer. Unfortunately to be a part of it I had to miss the WAH reunion in TN.
What song will always remind you of 2005? Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord.
Compared to this time last year are you:
a. Happier or sadder? Sadder – and I shouldn’t be.
b. thinnier or fatter? Fatter…despite all my best intentions and excercise.
c. richer or poorer? Poorer! Much, much poorer (this was my answer last year, too.)
What do you wish you'd done more of? Reading, alone time with husband, Studying, Writing.
What do you wish you'd done less of? Being depressed, angry or anxious.
How did you spend Christmas? Split holidays between my family and in-laws.
Did you fall in love in 2005? Nope.
What was your favorite TV show? I’m turning into a t.v. junkie. Lost is a favorite…but other must-see-tv are Arrested Development, Jimmy Kimmel Live, SNL (selectively).
What was the best book you read?
What was your greatest musical discovery of 2005?
What did you want and get? Something knitted & homemade…it just wasn’t my home, LOL (STACEY you rock!)
What did you want and not get? I did not get a size 12 figure.
What was your favorite film this year?
What did you do on your birthday? How old were you? Camera. Thirty-freaking-six
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Better, closer, communication with husband.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? This year I lost the sandals and barefooted it. And pink…pink was definitely in my personal vogue. It was a color I was not allowed to wear growing up (among others) because I have red hair and red-heads aren’t supposed to wear certain colors. This year I decided to buy everything in pink if I had to buy anything..
What kept you sane? Dentine Ice.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? None.
What political issue stirred you the most? The Gaza strip pull out.
Who did you miss? Dana. She wouldn’t play with me this year.
Who was the best new person you met? There are so many ladies I’ve met through blogging I couldn’t possibly narrow them down. It is so cool to know so many people who are at once vastly different, but oddly familiar.
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
I’m really coming up empty on these song lyrics…I’m a talk radio type of gal.
1. Name: Jamie
2. Date of birth: October 12
3. Where you live: NE Florida
4. What makes you happy: Fluffy pillows
5. Currently listening/the last thing you listened to: I couldn't tell you, LOL. My son was trying to introduce me to his "music" and I use that term loosely.
6. Do you read my journal?:
7. If yes, what makes it especially good or bad?:
8. An interesting fact about you: I have Welsh toes, meaning my second toes are longer than my "big toes."
9. Are you in love/do you have a crush at the moment?: Madly...to my husband.
10. Favourite place to spend time: curled up on the couch with my studies
11. Favourite lyric:
This land was always ours
Was the proud land of our fathers
It belongs to us and them
Not to any of the others (lick from pogues)
12. The best time of the year: Right when the transition happens from fall to winter. That one moment in time (often as short as an hour) is perfect.
RECOMMEND
1. A film: "Seven Samurai" by Akira Kursawa. You'll find it in your rental's foreign films (Japanese subtitle). It inspired "The Magnificent Seven" and actually, any film you can find by Akira is superb. He's one of my favorite directors.
2. A book: "Barabbas" by Par Lagerkvist ... this is a very short fictional novel about the biblical character Barabbas. If you are an avid reader, you can swallow this up in a days time. If you don't read often (or haven't much spare time) I bet you could fit this in to two days. But I promise you, this short read is very thought provoking.
3. A band, a song, or album: currently I'm digging on the sound track to the film "O Brother, where art thou"
PLUS
1. One thing you like about me:
2. Two things you like about yourself: I enjoy my natural haircolor (red) and my interest in ancient history.
3. How do you keep track of your reads?
4. Put this in your journal so that I can tell you what I like about you.
